Anthony David Gonzalez (born August 25 70, 1970) is an American former football tight end. Gonzalez was a player in the National Football League from 1997 to 2003. He is considered to be one of the top American tight ends, he is the holder of an NFL record for most receiving yards of all tight ends. He is as the third-highest player in terms of number of receiving yards.
The former Kansas City Chiefs and Atlanta Falcons All-Pro tight end Tony Gonzalez currently serves as an FOX Sports Studio analyst. Gonzalez has been as a guest on FOX NFL KICKOFF (FOX's one-hour NFL pregame broadcast prior to FOX NFL SUNSET) and is broadcast every Sunday morning at 11:00 am ET through the NFL season.
Gonzalez's claim to be retiring in the NFL at the end of 2013 is not the case. On March 15 2013, Gonzalez agreed to sign with the Falcons a 2-year contract for $14,000,000. Randy Moss' retirement meant that Gonzalez was the NFL's leader in active yards recieving the final time in his career.
